How it works

It is so simple you won't believe you didn't think of it! All you do is fill out our online form which gives the mileage manager details of how long your lease will last and how much mileage you are allowed. It then calculates monthly allowance and every month it will send you a text message (SMS) telling what your mileage 'should' be. You can time this message to arrive for just before you get into your car in the morning so you can check it right then and there.

You can come back to your account at anytime, log in, and change your settings.

  • Change that day and time that you receive your message.
  • Adjust your current mileage so that mileage manager can recalculate your monthly allowance.
  • Change the lease period
  • Change your mileage allowance should you renegotiate your lease terms.
    All at no extra cost.
What do you do if you start drifting over your mileage allowance?

If you see that you are beginning to exceed your mileage allowance, the first thing to do is to take stock of the situation - have a think, do a few calculations. Was it something in particular that has pushed you over, for example a trip to the other end of the country? Or is this just your normal journeys to and from work. You should be able to get an idea of how much you will be over your mileage allowance by the end of the lease.

If you are only a little over, you may be able to make savings by cutting down on your journeys, maybe you can sometimes take a train, cheap flight or occasionally borrow your partner's car.

If it appears that early into your lease that your mileage allowance just isn't going to be enough, do not hesitate, call your lease company to see if they will negotiate an new deal. If they will not renegotiate, then at least you can budget for the likely bill, putting something aside monthly instead of facing a huge bill at the end of the contract.

If your vehicle is part of a company fleet, then they may be able to pool mileage with other vehicles in the fleet.

The reminders...

Every month you will receive a text message which, by the time you get it may look something like the picture shown to the left.

We will also send you reminders when your warranty is nearing its end (at this point we recommend getting an early MOT) and when we suggest you prepare your car for return.

Unfortunately the nature of SMS messages means that we can put very little information into a message because we are limited in the number of characters we can send, so within the message body we cannot advise you how to act upon these reminders. Luckily we also send you email reminders, and in these we can put a bit more information. Please ensure that these do not end up in your spam filter! We won't send you loads of spam (see our privacy policy) but we will send you important information that will help to save you money.
Ultimately, most of our information will be contained on the article pages of this website, so please check back often.
